Charges laid against Ajax woman following collision that left a 13-year-old cyclist dead

A 44-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a tragic collision in Ajax, Ontario, that led to the death of a 13-year-old cyclist last November. The driver, behind the wheel of a Hyundai Santa Fe, has been charged with careless driving causing death under the Highway Traffic Act, according to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).

The incident occurred on the morning of November 7 on Rossland Road West near Stevensgate Drive. The young cyclist was airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but later passed away. The driver, who did not sustain any injuries, remained at the scene.
