Man and child in critical condition following collision in Pickering

A serious two-vehicle accident in Pickering has resulted in life-threatening injuries for both a man and a child, as reported by local police. Durham Regional Police arrived at the scene at the intersection of Taunton and Brock roads around 8 p.m.

Sgt. Joanne Bortoluss indicated that the man and child were outside their vehicle when they were hit by another vehicle. The child was subsequently taken to a trauma center in the Toronto area, while the man was transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle remained on-site, and the cause of the accident is still undetermined. The intersection has been closed for further investigation.
